Klinsmann’s men’s national soccer team won 4-0 against Tunisia in an exhibition match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
In the match, Son Heung-min was not named to the starting lineup due to a groin injury. South Korea started with Cho Kyu-sung up front, with Hwang Hee-chan, Lee Kang-in, and Lee Jae-sung leading the attack.
South Korea struggled against the Tunisian defense in the first half of the match, but Lee Kang-in opened the scoring in the second half with a direct free kick after being fouled in the box. Three minutes later, Lee Kang-in won a ball contest on the right side of the penalty area and rattled the Tunisian net with a left-footed shot.
In the 22nd minute of the second half, Kim Min-jae’s header from a corner kick deflected off Tunisian defender Merara and into the goal. The goal was attributed to Kim Min-jae, but it was later revised to an own goal by Tunisia. 스포츠토토
Despite the 3-0 score, Korea continued to attack. In the 45th minute, Hwang Eui-jo sprinted into the opponent’s zone and shook the Tunisian goal with his right foot. Son Heung-min, who had been sitting on the bench, congratulated Lee Kang-in, who was the perfect fixer, with a big hug when the multi-goal scorer came on as a substitute, showing his pride in his junior’s development.
He also celebrated the goal of Hwang Ui-jo, who had been struggling for the last 45 minutes, by pumping his fist in the air and running off the bench. He was even happier than Hwang Ui-jo, who scored the goal, and smiled widely with his arms open. Even after the game ended, he came out on the field and hugged Kim Min-jae and Hwang Ui-jo to celebrate the victory.
