Kim shoots 7-under in first round on course that will host next year’s Paris Olympics

Kim Joo-hyung fired a blistering round on the course that will host the golf competition at next year’s Paris Olympics.

Kim Joo-hyung shot a 7-under 64 to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the DP World Tour’s French Open ($3.25 million purse) at Le Golf Nachonal (par 71) near Paris, France, on Wednesday.

Le Golf Nacional will host men’s and women’s golf at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.

It has hosted the French Open, the national title event in French golf, since 1991 and the Ryder Cup in 2018.

Kim has the highest world ranking of any South Korean golfer, so he has a good chance of competing in Paris next year.

“I know that the Olympics will be held here,” Kim said, “and if I end up competing in the Olympics, this tournament is a great opportunity to practice.”스포츠토토

Kim, who carded seven birdies without a bogey on the day, said, “It was tough from the start because of the rain and wind, but I tried to play without pressure and I managed to do that. I played well today and I’m looking forward to the next three days.”

Mashu Southgate, Richard Mansell (England), Alfredo Garcia-Heredia (Spain) and Joachim Largergren (Sweden) shot 6-under 65s to trail Kim by one stroke.
