“I saw the positive side, that the team spirit is alive.”
That’s what Jeonbuk Hyundai head coach Dan Pescescu said after the team’s big win at home,
Jeonbuk won 3-0 at home against Ryan City Sailors (Singapore) in their third Asian Football Confederation Champions League (ACL) Group F match at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday.
With two wins, one loss and six points, Jeonbuk is in sole possession of second place in Group F behind Bangkok United (six points), who are tied on points but have played one game less. Lion City is third with one win, two losses, and three points.
Jeonbuk opened the scoring against the Lions in the fifth minute of the first half. Jun Amano rattled the Lion City net with a left-footed mid-range “bullet shot” from just outside the middle of the box. Five minutes later, Park Jin-seop had a shot on goal from the same position, but the ball went straight at the goalkeeper.
Jeonbuk got a lucky goal. It was an own goal from Lion City. In the 33rd minute, Lee Dong-joon sent a ball into the box from the right flank. Lionel Tan of Lion City stretched out his foot and tried to stop it, but the ball went in the back of the Jeonbuk goal against his will.
The first half ended with Jeonbuk leading 2-0. In the 12th minute of the second half, Jeonbuk scored the decisive goal. Moon Sun-min saw a cross from the right and waited for the ball on the left side of the box. The ball slipped past the goalkeeper’s hands and landed in front of Moon, who took advantage of the opportunity and calmly scored.
After the match, Jeonbuk coach Pescrescu said, “We lost the last match (2-3 against Bangkok), so today’s match was even more important. The attitude of the players was especially good. I think it was the best performance since I took over. I think we were better in terms of concentration and attitude, which allowed the players to score goals and get the win,” he said.
“There were only positives. Some players who hadn’t had a good game came out and did well. I saw only positive things today, that the team spirit is alive.”온라인카지노
On Petrasek’s absence from the roster, he added: “We have two injuries, Hafa Silva and Petrasek. Petrasek has an eye injury,” he explained.
“It was good that we kept creating chances,” said Pescrescu. It had the effect of preventing the opponent from coming up. We didn’t sit back and defend our goal just because we scored a goal. We realized again that it’s important to keep the pressure on.”
The return of players from the Asian Games was also good news for Jeonbuk. “They came back with good results,” said Pescrescu. I hope they will play an important role in the upcoming schedule.”
