Abdominal pain → 2G consecutive ‘out of the starting lineup’ Kim Ha-seong avoids the ‘injury list’

A moment of good fortune. Kim Ha-seong is out of the lineup, but avoids the disabled list.

Kim Ha-seong was scratched from the starting lineup for the Dodgers’ home game against the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on April 19. In his place, Xander Bogaerts will lead off for San Diego. Matthew Batten will play second base.스포츠토토

Previously, Kim complained of abdominal pain just before the game on Aug. 18 and was removed from the starting lineup once. A medical examination revealed that it was not a muscle injury or appendicitis as feared. However, Kim is still not at 100 percent.

San Diego head coach Bob Melvin said, “It’s not something that’s going to put him on the injured list. He’s feeling a little bit better, which is a good sign,” said San Diego manager Bob Melvin, explaining Kim’s condition, “but he’s still not 100 percent,” explaining the reason for his exclusion from the starting lineup.

In 143 games this season, Kim is hitting .265 with 17 home runs, 58 RBI, 81 runs scored, 36 stolen bases, and a .763 OPS. He is on pace for a career-high season, especially with his offense and defense. With three more home runs, he will join the 20-homer, 20-double club, the second Korean player to do so and the first Asian infielder. Beyond 20-20, Kim also has his sights set on the first 20-40 club in Asian history.

However, there is still no official injury report on Kim. It’s the end of the season, and if he has prolonged abdominal pain, he should prioritize his health over his record. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, “San Diego’s medical staff hasn’t been able to figure out what to do about Kim’s abdominal pain,” according to local media.

“I still feel similar to the past few days,” Kim said, “I’m waiting for the medical team’s opinion. After discussing it, we will consider my future schedule.”

Meanwhile, San Diego third baseman Manny Machado decided to have elbow surgery. With the team already eliminated from the postseason, the club wants to give its starters plenty of time to rest.

Michael Wacka will get the start for San Diego. The batting order is Bogart (shortstop), Fernando Tatis Jr. (right field), Juan Soto (left field), Manny Machado (designated hitter), Luis Camposano (catcher), Garrett Cooper (first base), Matthew Batten (second base), Jose Asoka (center field), and Egui Rosario (third base).
