‘Victory in 39 Days’ Oh Won-seok, “AG Representative Replacement Card? I’ll Focus on Chasing LG”

SSG Landers left-hander Oh Won-seok is back in the win column after a long absence.

SSG pulled off a 6-1 come-from-behind victory over the Hanwha Eagles in the 11th game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on Tuesday.

Starting pitcher Oh Won-seok pitched five innings of one-run ball with three hits, five strikeouts and three walks to earn his sixth win of the season.

After giving up a run in the first inning, Oh did not allow another run. He struck out the side in the second with a single and retired the next three batters on a fly ball and an infield grounder. In the fourth inning, he gave up a walk and a hit by pitch to put runners on first and third with no outs.

It was his fifth win in six games after pitching five scoreless innings against Doosan on June 21 to earn his fifth win of the season.

After the game, Oh Won-seok said, “It’s so good to win like this after a long time,” adding, “The batters gave up early runs and the pitchers protected me well, so I was able to win. I’ve been seeing a lot of pitches lately, but today I just looked at the middle of the plate and threw strikes, and I think I was able to get through the inning.” 메이저놀이터

Oh is open to the possibility of being selected for the Asian Games. “Even if I have a chance, I have to do well. I will prioritize doing well first. Right now, I’m chasing LG rather than thinking about the Asian Games, so I’ll focus on what I can do better in the rest of the season.”

NC left-hander Koo Chang-mo is injured and is unlikely to return to the team for the Hangzhou Asian Games. As a result, the team will have to consider alternate starters. Oh Won-seok could be one of the candidates.
